My gut feeling is bad on this one.

Re: Emmanuel Adebayor?
I am content with Adebayor if it's a 1 year contract. He is more capable of scoring more goals than Valencia or Zarate (when everyone is fit).

If we sign Lennon & Huddlestone as well I will be a bit more confident with the rest of the season.

Your guts are bad all the time Ronnie

But I have to agree, this doesn't sit well with me despite the fact he can play a bit when in the mood.

Dealing with these cunts isn't on, should sign the Milan bloke.

I'd have Townsend if we're shopping at Tottenham. On the left. Pace.

Re: Emmanuel Adebayor?
not sure this move would settle the team much. also not sure Levy isn't pulling his charlie brown move again with the owners.

Typical West Ham. Finally sign someone who can lift the curse, and we're pissing off at the end of the season!

If he mugs them off again, they might as well sell the club to me for a fiver.

Re: Emmanuel Adebayor?
We need an experienced midfielder as competition for Obiang, Noble & Kouyate.
Most of you didn't want Barton and Song is currently injured and has not played any form of football for nearly 4 months. Also a 3 year contract worth at least 70k a week for a player that was really shit during the 2nd half of the season is a risk.

Huddlestone is probably the next best thing that we have been linked with and is more reliable than Barton or Song.

Townsend yes please and the big one for a one year deal but Huddlestone and Lennon! No thanks.

Re: Emmanuel Adebayor?
People are moaning about Adebayor yet his goalscoring record is better than sakho, Carroll, Maiga and possible new signing Matri combined. He has played at the top level and most of the shit we have haven't even played in Europe on a regular basis.
If we can get him playing, on his day seriously in my opinion there are fewer strikers that we could attract that would do better. Remember him under Sherwood he was fantastic.

Norwich
Townsend is injured I believe?

Re: Emmanuel Adebayor?
I'm okay with Adebayor. It's just the Spurs thing I don't like.

Look at the positives, we're signing a player who's played for Arsenal, Real Madrid and Man City, and who at 31 is far from past it.

How many players have we had who have scored 24 goals in a PL season?

Better than Maiga and therefore good as far as I'm concerned.

Johnson 12:11 Fri Aug 28
Re: Emmanuel Adebayor?
Our gutless chairman said this after STUPIDLY expecting a favour off Levy in January:

"We thought we had one experienced Premier League striker lined up, only for his club to pull out of the deal at the last minute. I think we take the reasons they gave as a backhanded compliment, with our improvements on the field and our increased success off it meaning we are now viewed as rivals that shouldn't be dealt with!"

He then goes on to say;

"I also take satisfaction that we have been sensible financially and not committed to big contracts for older players. We have a clear philosophy on bringing in the right players for this football club and I am pleased we have stuck to our guns."

And now we're back crawling round him again, either getting bent over on costs, or getting set up to being mugged off by them pulling out again.

What a fucking Mickey Mouse cunt Sullivan is.

Exactly. Maiga replacement, my nan would be a better Maiga replacement and she's been dead for two years.

Re: Emmanuel Adebayor?
Who didn't see this coming let's be honest.

Our owners would rather stay still than actually invest some real money and give their new Manager half a chance to improve a 3 win in 20 team.
